Arena 101 – For Newbies
The Arena is a very important part of World of Warcraft, so you need to learn how to play it correctly.
- USE YOUR MOUSE TO MOVE! – Okay, this means, hold down both mouse buttons to run, hold down right click to spin. The thing about this that makes it so important is when, lets say a warrior is on you, he can out run your normal keyboard turn, but when you use the mouse he cant out maneuver you because you can do 5 360s in a matter of a full mousepad swipe. When key binding, it can be difficult sometimes to remember which keys you binded to what, so write them down if needed. Key binding is a quick way to get that spell off without reaching up to hit the numbers or click with your mouse.
- DON’T UNDER ESTIMATE YOUR OPPONENT! – I have watched videos where people NAKED have beat fully geared s3 players, just by outsmarting them and out playing them skill wise.
- DON’T BE AFRAID TO USE THE MASSIVE SPELLS! – This is most important I think for paladins and their bubble. I cant even begin to say how many times me(warlock) and my mage partner have blown up a paladin because he was at 50% and didn’t want to waste his bubble yet. Always use a little early, essp vs double dps!
- KITE! – Kite your opponent as much as possible unless you have the upper-hand. If its a Hunter/mage/casting class, run behind pillars as much as possible, this is called pillar hugging and you won’t make it into higher brackets if you can’t do this.
- DON’T LET YOUR TEAMMATE HOLD YOU BACK!- I know you are probably with a friend who you don’t want to hurt his feelings, but if you are serious about climbing the Arena Ladder then you better break him the news if you feel he is holding you back. The most important thing in arenas is teammates, without them you cant beat 5 players, or even 1, it take coordination, and communication. VENT IS A MUST!
